IT Projects & Scientific Services

DAME is a Program as a suite (ensemble) of projects, sharing a unique technological platform, based on a Service Oriented Application architecture, and a shared goal, e.g. able to provide a general-purpose and cross-disciplinary computationally distributed environment for knowledge extraction and data mining in massive data sets. Specialized for Astrophysics science cases, it can offer to a wide variety of e-science communities a large spectrum of computational facilities to produce science by exploiting the wealth of available massive astronomical data sets and powerful machine learning and statistical algorithms.

The DAME Program is made of a cloud of web-based applications and services, continously growing up in a variety of scientific areas. The following are the products already available.

Resources

DAMEWARE: A web application for data mining with machine learning methods. Includes a variety of models for classification, regression, clustering and feature selection applications.

PhotoRApToR: a desktop application for classification and regression experiments with neural networks, specialized for photometric redshifts estimation.

CLASH-VLT: Restricted data archive prototype for the VLT Large Programme.

STRADIWA: A web application for the research on sky transient objects based on interactive tools to generate and process astronomical simulated images.

ECODOPS: A python tool specialized for multi-dimensional data visualization.

C3 Tool: command-line python multi-process script, designed and developed to perform general cross-matching among astrophysical catalogues. The tool is able to be easily executed as a stand-alone process or integrated within any generic data analysis pipeline.

VIALACTEA: Local site hosting an overview of data mining tools designed for the FP7 Programme.

HiGHCoOLS: A Python tool for image classification, based on Deep Learning.

DAMEWARE PLUGIN: A java desktop application dedicated to extend the machine learning model library of DAMEWARE with user defined generic code.

3D MILKY WAY: Interactive simulation of a 3D virtualization of the Milky Way galaxy, including main astronomical subjects and based on realistic assumptions on its structure.

ASTROMETER: A simple and fast resource to perform metric calculations on science productivity of members within the astronomical community.
